Detailed Description

Basic Authentication (HTTP Basic Auth) used to access APIs in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integrations reached End of Maintenance on June 2, 2023 and will be deleted on November 20, 2026. SAP is deprecating Basic Authentication to ensure secure replication and recommends migrating to more secure authentication methods such as certificate authentication.

Impact Assessment

All SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integrations currently using Basic Authentication (Client ID and Secret over HTTP) will fail after November 20, 2026. Customers must audit all EC integrations and migrate each to certificate authentication or another supported secure method. This also relates to the broader deprecation of Basic Authentication across other SuccessFactors areas, including user login via Employment Username and third-party Corporate IdP direct integration.

Test Recommendations
• Inventory all Employee Central integrations currently using Basic Authentication • Migrate each identified integration to certificate authentication as recommended by SAP • Test that migrated integrations authenticate and replicate data successfully using the new authentication method • Verify that no integrations remain configured with Basic Authentication before the November 20, 2026 deletion date • Test end-to-end data replication scenarios after switching authentication methods
