Detailed Description

The SuccessFactors Learning OAuth token server, which uses HTTP Basic Authentication (Client ID and Secret) for token requests, will reach End of Maintenance on November 17, 2023 and will be deleted on November 20, 2026. SAP is replacing it with the platform token server, which supports the more secure SAML Assertion Based token request. Customers are advised to move their integration authentication to OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect.

Impact Assessment

All Learning integrations currently using the SuccessFactors Learning token server with Basic Authentication will fail after November 20, 2026. Customers must migrate their integration authentication from the Learning token server to the platform token server, updating to use SAML Assertion Based token requests, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect. This improves security by eliminating Basic Authentication (Client ID/Secret) in favor of more robust authentication standards.
