Administrators can now configure the foundation object Location Group as a custom field in Opportunity Marketplace assignments. In Admin Center > Configure Assignments > Configure Assignment Fields > Custom Fields, administrators add Location Group to specific assignment types. When assignment owners create or edit assignments, they can select one or more location groups, causing the Location field to dynamically filter to show only locations within the selected groups. Location Group data is also supported in mass creation of assignments and is included in Story reports.
Impact Assessment
This enhancement requires the foundation object Location Group to be enabled in the system before administrators can use it. Organizations with complex geographic structures will benefit most from this enhancement as it allows more targeted assignment creation and improved filtering. Administrators must explicitly configure Location Group as a custom field per assignment type; it is not enabled by default. Story reports can now include location group data for enhanced analytics on assignment geographic distribution.
