Detailed Description

SAP is deprecating the allowance-related fields (monthlyAllowance and annualAllowance) in multiple benefit plan objects including InsuranceBenefitPlan, PensionBenefitPlan, SpendingAccountBenefitPlan, and FlexBenefitPlan, with deletion on May 14, 2027. These fields have been moved to new benefit objects that support effective dating and currency, and can be extended using MDF. Story reports, Business Rules, and Integrations referencing the deprecated fields will stop working after deletion.

Impact Assessment

SuccessFactors EC implementations using Global Benefits with allowance configurations must update all Story reports, Business Rules, and Integrations that reference the deprecated monthlyAllowance and annualAllowance fields in the affected benefit plan objects. The new replacement fields on the new benefit objects provide enhanced functionality including effective dating and currency support. All affected artifacts must be updated before May 14, 2027 to prevent system failures.

Test Recommendations
• Identify all Story reports using monthlyAllowance or annualAllowance fields in InsuranceBenefitPlan, PensionBenefitPlan, SpendingAccountBenefitPlan, or FlexBenefitPlan objects • Identify all Business Rules referencing the deprecated allowance fields and update them to use the new benefit object fields • Review all integrations (both inbound and outbound) that reference these deprecated fields • Update and test Story reports with the new equivalent fields in the new benefit objects • Validate that allowance data displays correctly after migration to new objects • Test effective-dating functionality available in the new benefit objects
