Detailed Description

SAP is deprecating HTTP Basic Authentication for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central integrations, with End of Maintenance reached on June 2, 2023 and deletion scheduled for November 20, 2026. Basic Authentication, which uses username and password to access APIs, is being replaced by more secure methods such as certificate-based authentication. End of Development was reached on November 20, 2020.

Impact Assessment

SuccessFactors EC implementations that use Basic Authentication for any Employee Central API integrations must migrate to certificate-based authentication before November 20, 2026 or those integrations will stop working. This affects all third-party systems and middleware connecting to Employee Central APIs using username/password credentials. The migration requires coordination with integration teams and potentially with third-party vendors to update authentication configurations.
