Improved Validation Behavior in Hire and Rehire Processes
General Availability Recommended Automatically On Impact: Low AI Enriched
Description

Before, when you selected Submit during hiring and rehiring processes, the system validated only some fields of Foundation Objects, Generic Objects, and picklists when the values of those fields were changed. Now, when you select Submit during those processes, the system validates all fields regardless of whether the values were changed.See More

Detailed Description

This validation enhances the following hire and rehire processes: Rehire with old or new employment in Add New Employee, through either the Duplicate Check or Rehire Inactive Employee Hire or rehire with old or new employment from Recruiting or Onboarding in Manage Pending Hires Automatic Hire Note These hire and rehire processes do not apply to Onboarding 1.0 or internal hires. If the HR Manager didn't change fields containing deactivated data of Foundation Objects and Generic Objects before selecting Submit, that data was not subject to the validation check, allowing the HR Manager to add the new employee. Impact Assessment

This feature has limited impact but should be reviewed to confirm alignment with business processes in Employee Data implementations. Implementation teams should verify that existing configurations remain valid and test core business scenarios after the upgrade to confirm correct behavior.

Test Recommendations
• Verify the feature is enabled and accessible from the expected navigation path or configuration area in a test environment. • Test the end-to-end scenario with representative test data covering both happy paths and error conditions. • Validate correct behavior across all relevant user roles and permission configurations (admin, manager, employee). • Test edge cases: empty or missing values, boundary conditions, concurrent users, and large data sets. • Confirm that existing integrations, workflows, and downstream processes are not affected by the change.
